Are Boys and Girls really That different
The fall-sports-meeting held in our high school every year is now started under the schoolmaster’s statement. Although it is only October, it’s still hot as summer, especially in the noon. The sun is going to kill everyone. However, everybody is cheer loudly for their classes. Now it goes on the most excited game the tug of war! Each teem has a cheer squad made of five girls. Five girls dressed in sports clothing. They are all red and each of them have a stick in their hand. They are the commanders for the tiger team. They gave the command to tell their team when is the right time to pull. The teem is made up of ten excellent and strong boys. “One, Two, Three! Pull!” The girls shouted slogans. We could see they were nervous but they looked happy. This was the tug of war between Team Tiger and Team Lion. Ten boys were already tired. But they were still excited. They drag the rope so hard that they would not let the Team Lion have and advantages. Obviously, in this game, boys are playing the labor roles because physically boys are stronger than girls. The girls are playing the leading roles. From the slogan, the boys know when to pull. It controls the whole game and it is important. Men and Women are playing different roles but a good corporation.
Are men and women different? They’re different anatomically, of course, but are they different in any other ways? Do their hormonal differences influence their behaviors and attitudes? Do they process information differently?
Why in so many countries do people prefer boys than the girls?
The Planned Birth policy is the birth control policy of the government of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It is known in Western society as the One-child Policy due to the required payment of a "social compensation fee" for couples having more than one child in urban areas. China's generally perceived pandemic overpopulation problem, with the associated social and environmental problems, stimulated the government to take strong unique measures in population planning policy. The policy is controversial both within and outside China due to allegations of extreme methods such as forced abortions and other human rights abuses by the local authorities.
As a result, if the first born kid was a girl, most of the families would adope the kid and try to have another kid who they respected it was a boy.
I am not against the planned birth policy. The policy occurs with a reason. If there are too many people in China, where are the money come from? Who can feed their kids. As I know there is no more room if 13million people all stand on the road. It is so crowed. However, there is another problem which is gender differences. Wherever you go, it is always men first. Man and Woman apply for the same job, man has more chances to get the job than woman. Why is that happened? Nobody can tell. It is only because she is not a man. Gender discrimination appears more often in twenties century. What I want to say is that don’t look at things with color glasses. Man and Woman are all the same.
My grandma was born in that time. She knew many stories about other families. Once the mother had a girl, the family didn’t seem to be as happy as they expected; especially her husband’s parents. They wouldn’t blame their son but give a hard time to the wife. They were so anxious to have a grandson that he could inheritance their family business. It was their tradition, and nobody had doubted about that. Some families could even expel the daughter-in-law just because she couldn’t bring a boy to this family. At that time, no one could stand up and say a word.
My grandma is different. She married to my grandfather when she was 18. My grandfather had the work outside to support the family, and my grandmother did the housework and take care her children. She treated them all the same. She is always fair to everyone.

working
Working is for us, but not only for money
When you feel free, drink a cup of tea, and think about this question: why people have to work and who do they work for? My father always says “oh I am so tired of working. Even though I work so hard, I always get less paid. Therefore knowledge is so important to us. We should use our brain to make money but not only with hands. Making money is not easy. You should be aware of what you get!”
My mother now lives in America, but she doesn’t live in American style. The Americans are only work when they feel like to work. They also can choose what they like. Moreover they get enough vacation to travel and get rest. They change their works like they are changing the clothes. I found that my mum always work extra time. Double duty is so normal for her. When her friends ask her to go out on weekends, she answered she had to work. They were surprised by her reply. They wondered how many hours does my mum have to work. So Chinese were well-known as hard working people. I know my mum that she only has the time for working or sleeping. Maybe it because that my mum is a nurse, and for many reasons nurses are wanted in America. It’s a good job because you can get good paid. However, one couldn’t help stopping to get what they want; especially money is the biggest temptation. You will never get enough. You will get the money if you are keeping working and working. On the other hand you are loosing the time to enjoy your life.
A kind of people is they are working for money. Although they may earn a lot of money, they may not happy of that. The reason is they are not doing what they like.
The other kind of people is who are working for their interests. Even though they have to worry about what to eat, where to live, but they are happy.
In fact, I didn’t have any work experiences. But I think school work is somehow similar to working.
The school life in China is a life for parents. Everything I do is because my father told me to do. For long time, I never questioned that even if I didn’t like it. But in America, we can take any classes I like. I have freedom to do what I want. Tome, I already get used to the past life style. Before I do anything I have to get the permission from my parents. There are always rules for everything. When I feel so much pressure, I really want to tell them that not everyone graduated from college can have a successful life. And there is no claim that one who didn’t go to college couldn’t succeed in the future. The key is that if you have the determination and perseverance. As an old idioms there is no such thing cannot be done, but only the people cannot do it.
Since I came to America, I have so much extra time. I can do something else except schoolwork. My mother bought a computer for me after. At first I used it to contact my friends and families in China. Later on I find a voluntary work for a clan of game. Basically I collect all the members’ information. Sometimes I make some picture for the event the clan held. At the beginning I just do it for fun. Gradually, I found I had to take the responsibility that I had chosen. Even though I did it for free, and I don’t get any paid or prize, but I like the job. I got the satisfaction, pride and accomplishment instead. These couldn’t be compared with money. Almost every day, the first thing I do when I got home is opening the computer, just to see if some new members are having any problems. I will worry about the clan, and I will get mad sometimes just because I love what I am doing. It’s like a family. I met a lot of friends. Some are also like me live in America. I am so happy to talk with them, work with them and see the clan is going well.
Maybe a lot of people will say “ I am glad to do what I want, but without money who will feed me; how can I support my family. Spiritual enjoyment is meaningful to everyone. However we have to have money to live. Based on a website resource ,REGIONAL AND STATE EMPLOYMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT: MARCH 2007
Regional and state unemployment rates were generally unchanged or lower in March. Overall, 30 states and the District of Columbia recorded over- the-month unemployment rate decreases, 12 states registered increases, and 8 states had no changes, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. Over the year, jobless rates were down in 36 states and the District of Columbia, up in 9 states, and unchanged in 5 states. The national unemployment rate was essentially unchanged in March at 4.4 percent but was down from 4.7 percent a year earlier.[1]
Those people are still struggling for money. It’s ridiculous to let them give up the chances and follow their dreams.
I am not going to argue with that because I totally agree with them. But what we can do is not forget what we really want. Don’t get lost when you are counting the money.
